The Ute Trail to Tombstone Ridge is one of the most beautiful hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. To get to the trailhead, we take the iconic Trail Ridge Road which cross the whole national park. As we get off the car on the small and narrow parking lot on the side of the mountain road, a strong wind blows in our faces. Even in the early summer, a beanie, gloves and a windbreaker are not inappropriate to wear. Despite of it all, the hike is a lot of fun.

This easy hike above the treeline offers fantastic views of the surrounding mountains, including the highest peak of the park, Longs Peak (4346m). Besides the beautiful flowers along the way, we can also observe some wild animals on this hike. We enjoy this short and cozy walk through the tundra of the Rocky Mountains and turn around after about one and a half hours to return to our car.
