This beautiful hike takes us on a trail through the forest for about two kilometers. We continuously gain altitude and we soon have beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. We observe with interest the hoodoos which decorate the landscape. The fall colors make the landscape especially stunning at this time of the year. At kilometer 5 of the hike, the official Sheep Creek Trail ends. From here, an unmaintained but clearly visible path can be taken up the ridge to Sheep Mountain. The trail should only be used in dry weather conditions and by moderate winds.

Because of the strong wind in the middle of the day, we decided not to climb to the summit. But along the ridge, the view of the surroundings and the foot of the Kaskawulsh glacier is already excellent. Sightings of bighorn sheep or grizzly bears are not uncommon on this hike. We were on our side not lucky enough to see any of them. A few ground squirrels shared the trail with us and we got to see a beautiful coyote, which ran away as soon as it saw us.
