The highly recommended hike through Death Canyon to Patrol Cabin offers beautiful views of Phelps Lake and the mountains along Death Canyon.
Along the way, we are once again spoiled by the splendor of the flowers of Grand Teton National Park. Wildlife is also often seen there: bear and elk spottings are not rare in Death Canyon. Unfortunately we were not among the lucky ones, but we were comforted by numerous encounters with marmots and butterflies.
Once again stopped by the snow, we can’t climb up the Static Peak Divide. But this does not bother us that much. The hike is being very pleasant so far and we also appreciate a slightly quieter day.
We take advantage of this beautiful sunny day and find a quiet spot along the creek near Patrol Cabin. We have our picnic lunch there, dip our feet in the cold water of the creek and enjoy the nature around us before heading back.
