The trailhead of this 21-kilometer hike to Cracker Lake is located at the parking lot of the Many Glacier Hotel. This hike offers us a great alternative to the classic hikes around Many Glacier.

The first two kilometers go through the forest and along the Sherburne Lake. To the delight of our nostrils, those two kilometers are also a horse trail. We then hike the first few meters of elevation change in the forest and continue our way along the Canyon Creek. This section offers us open passages that allow us to discover the surroundings. As we approach Cracker Lake, the landscape gradually changes. Above the tree line, we can appreciate the beautiful mountainous landscape surrounding us. We finally arrive at Cracker Lake where only half a dozen people can be found. The place is quiet and idyllic. The turquoise lake is a real pearl of the national park and invites to relax.
