Our first hike in Whistler takes us up Blackcomb Mountain. From the village, we take the gondola to the start of the hike. The trail is neither technically demanding nor particularly physically challenging. It is therefore optimal to get back in shape after our quiet stay on Vancouver Island.

The nice scenic path is a juxtaposition of different hiking trails and can therefore be shortened as you want. We first follow the Alpine Loop, then the Overlord Trail. All along the way, we enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains in perfect weather. We cross the border of Garibaldi Provincial Park and ascend along the Decker Loop. At the highest point, we have a great view of the Overlord Glacier. The descent through the rocks to the small Decker Tarn Lake is a bit steep, but quickly becomes flatter. We then return to the Overlord Trail towards the cable car station
